The first 10.10.10 Event in Denver came to a close last Thursday at The Grand Finale where the 10 handpicked entrepreneurs shared their 10-day experience and revealed what they will do next – there were commitments to tackling Wicked Problems in the area of Health, calls for investment, and promises of progress updates in the coming months.
Five Colorado entrepeneneurs took part in our first-of-its-kind event created by a successful Denver entrepeneur.
The ultimate goal for 10.10.10? That one or more of these entrepreneurs may lead a startup company that brings an innovative solution to one of the Wicked Problems in Health to market.
What 10.10.10 does is different. We are an organization and a program that develops market-based solutions to the world’s “Wicked Problems.” We are not a charity or a think tank. We focus specifically on market-based solutions because, after all, that’s what entrepreneurs do.
“I know of nothing like this anywhere in the world. We set out to get the attention of entrepreneurs – startup CEOs with passion, ambition, focus and the ability to take on challenges . . . I think it is fair to say that things have gone far, far better than anyone could have expected," said Tom Higley, 10.10.10 founder.
See what each of the 10 entrepeneur-CEOs plan to do next, here are just a few:
Cheryl Kellond of Boulder is planning an exit for her current company and is seeking seed investment as she shapes her idea for impacting Alzheimer’s – she is just one of 5 women entrepreneurs who participated.
Frank Ricotta of Denver is a serial entrepreneur who plans to pivot his current startup to develop a solution to fill an unmet need in the health data space.
A physician-turned-entrepreneur, Maurice Herbelin of California had a life-changing revelation – he’s leaving his current corporate role to start a new venture in the area of health.
10.10.10 was created to leverage the creative problem solving ability of our country’s vast pool of entrepreneurs, aiming these resources toward serious, widespread problems that we all face. We have plans to replicate the program in other parts of the country – and we’re not limiting ourselves just to problems in Health – Water, Food, Energy, Learning all have Wicked Problems to tackle.
