Several years ago - I left college with a fresh diploma, new knowledge and confidence that I was going to change the world. Unfortunately, I had no freakin' clue how to get an actual job.
Thankfully, I had a professor who saved my resume and job search from the abyss with a 2 hour session on "how not to live in your parents basement forever". He debunked the myths around resumes, interviews, cover letters and follow-up in a no-nonsense way. The way you actually get a job. Without it, I would have been lost.
Fast-forward to today, I'm running a startup called Dabble. We receive 1-2 resumes a day from eager, qualified individuals. No matter my diligence with my inbox and follow-up, most of the applicants get ignored. However, some stand out.
I'm teaching the class How to Land a Job at a Startup because I can't wait to share what I've learned through my own job-search misteps, my conversations with other founders and my deep belief that avoiding the corporate lifestyle is fulfilling, fun & damn interesting.
Join me on Feb. 12th. Tell your niece, your friend or anyone looking to get out of the corporate track. It's sunny on the startup side.
