I'll be the first to admit that I'm great at coming up with ideas, but I need a partner to help me with figuring out the details of execution. Or even, helping me figure out which ideas are viable as is, which are not at all viable, and which are viable with a little bit of tweaking. Here is one of the ideas I've been reflecting upon recently:
1. There's some really good original rock and metal music coming out of Colorado Springs and Denver, but very little of it is getting the attention it deserves. Suggested solutions:
A. Establishment of a music and media co-op. This would include an audio recording studio, a video recording studio and a photo studio. There would also be promotion personnel who would assemble Electronic Press Kits (EPK) and develop marketing strategies. Labor and equipment would initially be provided as barter between members for services. Don't know if this could be partially (or fully) subsidized by an NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) grant or not, as rock and roll and heavy metal (my focus areas) are just much an indigenous American art form in this day and age, as Americana and Folk were in the past. Would need space and utilities for startup. I could being my initial equipment in for all three, and we could build from there.
B. Internet Radio Station which focuses primarily on original music from Colorado Springs and Denver. It would be a freeform radio station, with regularly scheduled audiobook and radioshow programming. Original music could be interspersed with classic rock and pop during normal broadcast hours (when other, specialty shows are not scheduled). Funding could come from tie-in with ads from local live music venus in the Springs and Denver.
LMK if anyone would like to discuss these ideas further. I can provide more depth of my vision, but this is just a brief, rough draft.
