Friday Recap Access to Justice:
They are bringing technology within the legal field to the 21st century, helping to lower cost to the client while helping the lawyer with providing a higher level of quality care. There is also a social aspect being brought in, allowing lawyers to contribute to the system to lower the cost to the consumer, as well as tracking these kind of items. Essentially this is a “Wikipedia for turbo tax in the law field” according to some of the team members. This is somewhat similar to how you choose your lawyer from your bid at Rocket Lawyer.
What have they done in the past 24 hours?
- A whole lot of backend Logic to make a data driven model
- Utilizing model to take a lot of information and then ensure that appropriate information is provided to the right people.
- Reached out to companies with surveys to find out what services will work best
Access to Justice will essentially be doing Lead Generation to existing lawyers, providing a B2B (Business to Business) service to lawyers, who in turn can work with their clients in a better way. This will help both the client find the best suited lawyer for them as well as the lawyer have a better pre-understanding if you will, of what the client needs.
This will also provide a nice safety net for the lawyers, allowing them to catch that obscure area of the law that the lawyer may not have seen initially. So, if the client has a very niche problem, they can one, eliminate the lawyers that have not worked in that expertise and two, eliminate any time “wasted” on either end for a not so perfect fit.
Who knew law could be so fun? Access to Justice is going to make a lot of people’s lives easier when dealing with legal challenges, that’s for sure.
