Nicole Glaros of Techstars, Desi Mcadam of Thoughtbot and Mike Gellman of Spire Media are just a few of the great Coloradan minds that are meeting at Galvanize’s Denver campus this weekend. Together with dozens upon dozens of other local entrepreneurs and developers will pack into the space for Startup Weekend.

The most recent success startup from Denver Startup Weekend is the story of rach.io which will be shipping out its line to fill the shelves at Home Depot this week The controller was fashioned to make sprinkler systems smarter and run more efficiently.

The Startup Weekend model is a simple one: anyone can pitch an idea, the best ideas are voted up and then teams get 54 hours to bring those ideas to fruition. Pitches are at rapid fire pace and each team only has 60 seconds to relay their idea. At the end of it all, participants pitch in front of local entrepreneurs. This weekend Bing Chou of QuickLeft, Jim Franklin of SendGrid and many others will be judging the ventures’ business model creation, coding, designing and market validation. The grand winner will take home a startup law package from Meyer Law, opportunity to work in coworking space not to mention some amazing mentor connections.

A few tickets are still left. But if you can’t snag one, at least you can follow all the action at #SWDenver.
