Nicholas Jackson is a Built In senior director of editorial overseeing the content team. He has covered the tech industry and a variety of other fields as a reporter and editor since 2009.

A graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications, Jackson previously worked as the editor-in-chief of Pacific Standard. Prior to that, he was the digital editorial director at Outside; an associate editor at The Atlantic, where he launched the magazine’s health, technology and science coverage areas; the first editor-in-chief of Atlas Obscura; and a news reporter at Slate.
