The Role

Description
Gather and define electrical and mechatronic requirements of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for Software Defined Vehicle-based architecture. Specify Compute Control Unit Farm, Microprocessor/Mechatronic Control Unit Farm, and Aggregators (including connectors for headers and wiring harnesses), Input/Output (I/O) electrical interface, ECU serviceability, and sealing (water and dust intrusion) requirements according to IEC International Protection Code, for conventional ICE passenger vehicle Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) battery pack and Traction Power Inverter Module using Tortoise SVN, Tortoise Git, Jira, Jira Align, and IBM Rational Team Concert tools, following Scaled Agile Framework. Collaborate with Functional Safety team and define safety requirements to provide redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms based on identified Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEAs) and vehicle level hazards such as limp home modes. Investigate I/O load information on existing/legacy ECUs to define common and standard interfaces on next generation of ECUs with new Vehicle Electrical Architecture.
Additional Description
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience as an Engineer, Lead, Technical Specialist, or related role. Must also have experience with: ensuring passenger vehicle connectors for headers and wiring harnesses, Input/Output (I/O) electrical interfaces, and sealing designs meet OEM requirements, and defining safety requirements to
provide redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms based on vehicle level hazards such as limp home modes.
