The Role

Description
This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX, Roswell, GA or Warren, MI, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum
The Role:
The Sr. Data Product Manager will be responsible for driving the development and management of data products that leverage cloud technologies and vehicle data to deliver valuable insights and solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the Azure data platform, data lifecycle management across the data mesh, and has strong business literacy for key activities and product needs within the automotive industry. This role will be responsible for leading a team of hands-on practitioners capable of drawing insights and creating scalable data products and models that identify opportunities with high return on investment, via hypothesis testing, prototyping, and experimentation. The ideal candidate thrives developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and bridges collaboration to ensure vehicle products are delivered with quality, builds product management trust, and ensures our vehicle data product meet the company objectives of delivering a zero, zero, zero future for our GM Customers.
What You'll Do:

  • Define and execute the data product strategy, roadmap, and vision, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders, to identify and prioritize data product opportunities.
  • Serve as a Group Product Manager managing a team of Data Product Managers/Product Owners and Data Engineers aligned with business facing teams delivering Innovation and Growth initiatives with the Vehicle Telematics and Vehicle Descriptor data domain.
  • Define and document data product specifications, including data sources, data models, data processing pipelines, and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with cloud technology teams to leverage cloud platforms and services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, data governance, and data security in the development and maintenance of data products.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of data products and make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and pricing strategies for data products.
  • Partner with Enterprise Data Analytics & Insights (EDAI) portfolio management to focus on work related to strategy, roadmap, critical metric definition, reporting and dashboards.


Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience driving data technology and enabling transformation for Business Units and Corporate Functions - management consulting experience in the Vehicle/Automotive domain is acceptable
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Business Administration or related field; Master's preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and deploying data products and data insights to solve business problems
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and their application in data product development.
  • Expertise in vehicle data products, including telematics, connected car, and automotive IoT.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles, data analytics, and data visualization.
  • Experience in agile product development methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision


Additional Description
Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $156,200 - $239,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
