The Role

As a critical member of the Finance organization, the Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting and Reporting will work closely with Finance leadership and have a variety of responsibilities, including the research and resolution of technical accounting issues, development and application of company accounting policies, and the preparation and review of the company's international and SEC filings. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. This person will work on various accounting projects and ensure that accurate, timely, and transparent accounting and reporting are delivered consistently. This is an individual contributor role. However, individuals in this role should be able to lead and guide other Managers, Directors, and Senior leaders.

How will you make a difference?

  • Prepare, review, and/or otherwise oversee the preparation of memorandums to document the company's application of accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America ("GAAP"); perform technical accounting research and write white papers on complex accounting transactions, including contracts with customers, unique vendor arrangements, marketing agreements, debt offerings, and accounting for new product offerings
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract terms and other business matters and translate them into the appropriate application of GAAP; support the revenue team by analyzing and developing models for new multi-element arrangements
  • Research new FASB accounting pronouncements and related SEC regulations, determine implications and develop an implementation strategy, rollout, and training as needed
  • Identify and assess new risk areas that arise as a result of significant projects or process changes; advise business owners to ensure appropriate application of GAAP is in place before implementing business changes or the effective date of changes in GAAP
  • Develop and maintain relevant accounting policies and effectively communicate approved policies and procedures throughout the company
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of international and SEC 10-Q/K filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A
  • Maintain and develop internal controls


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's in accounting or MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) or equivalent required


Required Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks
  • Excellent technical accounting research skills
  • International financial reporting experience preferred
  • Experience and proficiency in working through accounting issues and the application of new pronouncements with external auditors, including appropriately defending, within GAAP, the company's position
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Practical verbal and written communication skills

Base Pay:
84,000.00 - 105,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
