The Role

KUBRA is in growth mode and is looking for an experienced and dynamic Change and Release Manager to join the team. As a Change and Release Manager at KUBRA, you will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end delivery of complex and strategic change initiatives across the organization.


This is a hybrid opportunity in Mississauga, ON.

  • As the top leader in IT Operations for Change and Release, you'll guide and grow a cross-functional team of over 15 managers and staff to excel in alignment with KUBRA's core mission and values.
  • Maintain and strengthen high-level relationships with key stakeholders by building trust, communicating effectively, and clearly justifying the actions and decisions of the Change and Release Management teams.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise change and release strategy, framework, and standards, ensuring alignment with the organizational change management methodology and best practices
  • Establish and manage the change and release governance, including the change and deployment portfolio, roadmap, prioritization, and reporting
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of change management and transformation, while managing complex stakeholder relationships and mobilizing solutions teams to bring value to KUBRA and clients.
  • Strategically, tactically lead, enhance and strengthen overall relationship with our client teams and customers for all KUBRA interaction touch points as it relates to Change and Release of all KUBRA products and services
  • Supports the VP, IT Operations in the strategic definition and management of the Enterprise change management framework, along with a variety of supporting tools and templates (ServiceNow and JIRA) to manage the development and execution of the change management deliverables.
  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities, control and governance across the Change Advisory Board (CAB) management, Request for Change (RFC) controls, and Post Implementation Review (PIR) management
  • Guide a team of Release Analysts to streamline release management and implement technologies like Octopus Deploy, Team City, and Atlassian products, handling everything from environment setup and release packaging to quality assurance and deployment.
  • Oversee the entire release management cycle, covering application updates, system patches, security enhancements, and hardware upgrades across multiple projects. Take charge in evaluating tools and services that assist teams in effectively managing and deploying product releases.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering and DevOps to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
  • Release Management process control and governance, managing Release meetings, coordinating the release package lifecycle with KUBRA development teams, and managing the Release decision CAB meetings

What kind of person should you be?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and working knowledge in the various stages of ITIL, Project Management, Change / Release, IT and Financial audit, RFP responses and DevOps.
  • Analytical and KPI, ROI focused with the ability to manipulate data, build reports, and craft analysis to generate insights & recommendations across KUBRA
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, management, mentoring of teams and individuals and in having developed talent and performance managing low performers.
  • Focus on people development, evaluating associate performance and making decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Ability to analyze data to leverage market insight from internal and external sources into powerful insights and actions.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for technology, product development.
  • Superior ability to collaborate cross functionally.
  • Strong bias towards action; accountable and results oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in fast moving and highly complex environments.
  • Ability to communicate strategy diplomatically and clearly into execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication.
  • Strong and disciplined management skills.

What skills do you need?

  • Bachelors/University degree in Computer Science or related field
  • ITIL Certification or Related Change and Release or General Management education
  • Six Sigma Certification is an asset
  • Significant experience in overseeing Change and Release / Deployment teams / practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in support leadership based on ITIL foundations with Enterprise Change Management.
  • Proven and demonstrated track record in progressive and higher roles with a strong potential to progress in career into senior / executive organizational roles.
  • Experience interfacing with clients and/or customers in a support capacity.
  • Experience managing C-level and Client facing escalation situations.
