The Infrastructure Engineer works on holistic engineering deliverables across different stages of the product lifecycle and determines technology patterns for the overall solution. This role takes the lead in guiding more junior engineers and is a role model in fostering the adoption of new technologies. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
Shift: 2nd shift - 2:00pm ET - 11:00pm ET (Including weekend coverage)
Responsibilities
- Responsible for operating, administering, and managing the day-to-day Network operations of a large scale global mixed media network communications environment supporting mission critical customer applications. Serves in a tier 1 role that proactively monitors, analyzes alarm information, initiates corrective actions to promptly isolate issues, restore service, implements changes and provides analysis and consultation to peers.
- Monitors the Data Network for performance degradation, connectivity issues, system events and alerts. Updates and manages tickets through resolution with vendors and internal support groups.
- Tests, analyzes, performs corrective actions, and restores network equipment and services in a timely and accurate manner to eliminate/reduce application impact.
Provides timely notifications to management/outage team and escalates tickets to appropriate internal and external management as needed. - Responds to engagements from the Command Centers and provide network analysis to determine network availability.
- Creates and implements data network changes.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks and creates, maintains, updates NOC support documentation.
- Achieves product commitments (and influences others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skills and contributes to or led technology communities
- Uses automation, system tools, open-source solutions, observability and 'security first' principles in daily work
- Contributes to team agile ceremonies, leads demos and presentations, helps new engineers learn established norms
- Initiates high level solution design approaches, and guides team to achieve desired key software delivery capabilities using automated, coded enterprise and observability
- Participates in internal speaking and advocacy events
- Supports research activities to adopt new technology solutions in ways of developing new capabilities
- Continues professional education and creates opportunities for core product teams to learn engineering best practices
- Coaches immediate chapter and actively fosters the adoption of new technologies
- Leadership Responsibilities: Is accountable for individual assignments and an element of work group's results.
- Task Complexity: Works on complex projects. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency. Tasks are varied and complex.
- Amount of Supervision: Works under limited supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall timeliness and accuracy
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelors - Computer Science or related
- 3+ Years - (Software) Engineering, DevOps or related
- Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale
Preferred Qualifications
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Cisco Industry Certification - CCNA or higher
- ITIL foundations, or related certification
- Demonstrated experience with Incident, Change & Problem Management processes
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting network issues related to Cisco route/switch, Vendor circuits, VPN and Out-of-Band connectivity
- Demonstrated experience with Network Monitoring Systems & Tools such as Solarwinds, Netscout nGeniusOne, Netscout Pulse, Wireshark, Splunk and others
- Knowledge of Network Security products such as Palo Alto Networks, Bricata, Broadcom
- Network Automation skills such as Ansible, Git & scripting tools
- ServiceNow Reporting, Knowledge and Process Management
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $86,500.00 to $146,100.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
