The Marketing and Communications team helps build the ZS brand, champion thought leadership, support business development and inform, engage, inspire, and empower past, present and future ZS people.
HEAD OF BRAND AND REPUTATION
As the director of brand and reputation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our brand, ensuring that reputational efforts align and advance our firm's objectives. Reporting to the head of global communications and brand, this role requires a blend of strategic foresight, creative innovation, and robust analytical skills, aimed at enhancing ZS's reputation and market presence. Ideal candidates will have a passion for brand-building, storytelling, and deep experience with brand and competitive positioning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leadership and team Development:
- Lead and mentor a team focused on brand, media, analyst relations, and ESG initiatives, cultivating a culture of creativity and collaboration
- Strategic brand management:
- Build the brand strategy in elevating ZS's position in current and new markets
- Oversee, define, and govern the ZS brand framework, narrative, brand positioning and message architecture aligned with the firm's vision and business strategy
- Lead brand campaigns to increase awareness, exposure, searchability and lead generation
- Partner closely with the Content and Creative director to implement a consistent brand identity
- Manage agency partnerships, ensuring alignment and collaboration on brand strategy and campaign execution
- Employer brand and recruitment marketing:
- Oversee the employer brand strategy to deliver on ZS's employer value proposition and build a compelling and attractive workplace brand and reputation
- Lead and manage initiatives to attract and retain top and diverse talent through innovative and targeted marketing strategies by geography and role
- Oversee storytelling efforts that highlight ZS people, open roles, life at ZS and career advancement on ZS's channels
- Oversee the global awards strategy to build ZS's reputation as an industry leader and preferred employer
- Oversee the global social media content strategy and identify opportunities to amplify messaging with key influencers and target populations
- Global communication leadership:
- Spearhead the development and execution of innovative storytelling and content amplification strategies to enhance ZS's narrative across all channels
- Direct communication strategies for critical milestones such as acquisitions, firmwide investments and industry announcements
- Govern crisis communication frameworks to effectively manage and protect ZS's reputation
- Media and analyst relations:
- Lead the strategic implementation of comprehensive media relations strategies that build ZS's reputation, and generate substantial media coverage and meaningful speaking opportunities for our spokespeople
- Direct media relations efforts to foster brand coherence and share of voice across multiple channels and publications
- In partnership with media and analyst relations manager, prepare subject-matter experts for interview opportunities; provide relevant media background and talking points; coordinate and monitor interviews
- Create opportunities for ZS to be seen as a leader in the market, shortlisted in analyst reports more frequently and considered as the vendor of choice
- Drive efforts to increase share of voice and earn expanded and improved presence in analyst research
- Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
- Direct the development and execution of the annual ESG report, including defining report strategy and project management across global subject matter experts
- Oversee the alignment of global ESG communications with the corporate narrative, ESG strategy, ESG reporting and industry and region best practices
- Performance and insights:
- Analyze and report on key performance indicators to provide actionable insights and measure the effectiveness of branding and communication strategies
- Stay informed on trends and best practices in brand marketing and communications and incorporate these into strategies to enhance brand presence and reputation
Background/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field; master's degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles with a proven track record of success
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading and mentoring high-performing marketing and communications teams
- Deep experience in strategic brand positioning, competitive positioning, and repositioning billion-dollar corporate brands
- Experience leading brand agencies
- Experience in managing and integrating multiple brands through M&A integration
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
