The Investors’ Chronicle is looking for an economics writer.

Role overview

As the IC’s economics writer, you will be responsible for describing and explaining economic developments to our audience of investors, why they matter and how they impact different sectors and asset classes. You will be required to contribute to our Portfolio Clinic from time to time, and also to our podcasts and investor events.

You will work closely with different editors including the news, engagement and features editors.

An ability to use statistics and create charts that help to bring stories to life

You should be comfortable with expressing an opinion, and interested in developing relationships with experts across the industry as a source of ideas and quotes

Desired skills

An ability to work to deadlines and a willingness to be flexible enough to fit into a digital-first publishing environment.

Experience of podcast and video

The willingness to work as part of a team and to mentor/advise less experienced colleagues
