About the role
Over the next few years we have ambitious targets to grow the FT’s global paying audience. Owning, refining, communicating and embedding our methodology for valuing data capabilities and assets - both potential value of incoming projects and realised value post completion. Analysing the gap between potential and realised value to find opportunities for further optimisation
-
Having a thorough understanding of what metrics represent the value drivers within each business area and ensuring Metrics That Matter (an internal initiative to simplify and clarify the metrics that power our business) is improving data-driven decision making across the company
-
Leading on the translation of growth opportunities & into a proposed set of activities to realise benefits
-
Making high value recommendations on how data can drive more value within the organisation (either new datasets or new applications of existing data)
-
Leveraging analytical and technical support from other teams to achieve the above
-
Confidently measuring the success of internal initiatives and using subsequent analysis to drive improvements towards team goals (i.e. data driven decision making, value capture etc.)
-
Questioning existing data use and workflows to better understand areas of opportunity
The successful candidate should be:
-
Able to see the big picture opportunity but to also understand the detail and practical steps that can get us to the value whilst collaborating with analysts, allies & stakeholders alike
-
Comfortable challenging established practices where further value could be unlocked
- Proactive to identify growth opportunities powered by data (new or existing)
-
Possess both an analytical and commercial mindset
