Description and Requirements
The AVP, Software Engineering & Infrastructure role is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leading the organization to evolve and modernize the CS product engineering discipline and platform as a hands-on leader, influencing all aspects of delivering modern cloud based, hybrid and SaaS integrated solutions. This CTO-like role will collaboratively ensure the effectiveness of Application Development and Infrastructure Engineering teams to agilely deliver solutions through the advanced use of DevOPs automation tools, realizing full CI / CD from inception to final product. They will holistically look at developer productivity, modernizing legacy applications/platforms/infrastructure, and DevSecOp practices. This will all be done by providing engineers with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and tools to drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, Test Automation, Site Reliability and Performance engineering into the respective product teams as well as managing the lower environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning, incorporating emerging technology trends and industry standards to define the CST vision and strategy for DevSecOps, CI/CD, Test Automation, Site Reliability and Performance engineering, Performance testing, Test Data Management, Lower Environment management, Developer productivity.
- Serve as a strong change agent and a visionary leader with the ability to lead and inspire technology professionals to succeed in a fast-changing market, keeping the team focused on breakthrough strategies and tactics to best leverage the resources of the company.
- Own AI opportunities to advance deployer productivity, including opportunity identification, portfolio modernization, pilot launching and outcome measurement.
- Create and lead a de-centralized governance model, including tools, for DevSecOps, CI/CD, Test Automation, Site Reliability and Performance engineering, Performance testing, Test Data Management, Lower Environment, and Developer Productivity management.
- Set targets for development and growth of engineers in professional development with feedback from product development team leaders.
- Set up interaction and knowledge sharing processes among engineers.
- Participate in solving complex process challenges that require the highest competency level as an expert with consultation with the product organization.
- Participate in thought leadership and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with Architectural and Security guidelines/governance.
- Partner with Audit, Application Security and Architecture to plan through potential risks associated with product and/or processes.
Position Requirements
- BA/BS in Comp Science/IS/Engineering or relevant field with a solid understanding of performance or operational excellence concepts.
- 15+ years of IT or relevant technical experience, of which 10 should be at a senior management level.
- 5+ years of experience in digital transformation utilizing Azure IaaS & PaaS technologies and DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Sonar, veracode, JFrog, Azure resource manager.
- Experience as an inspiring leader who has led a global team of technologists through superior communication skills and strong leadership skills required to continually drive the team to deliver technology solutions, with leading edge capabilities, enabling business value and transformation for superior business impact.
- Client service mindset with proven ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of senior business stakeholders. Must have a track record of elevating technology at the most senior levels in an organization and partnering as a trusted peer to the business.
- Demonstrated front-end and backend application expertise, software development or leadership of software development teams preferred, bringing familiarity with many of the latest technologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading the introduction of new technologies and standards into an evolving systems environment (e.g., cloud-based applications and infrastructure, SaaS, user vs. maintained applications, mobility applications, security) including new ways of working via citizen development.
- Hands-on leadership experience and technical depth across the critical functions of a technology organization including creating and managing product development environments development, customer facing technical environments, and business applications.
- Deep knowledge of Corporate Legal, e-Discovery, operational process improvement, Employee Experience and other corporate processes and the standard (and emerging) industry IT solutions including cloud, DevOps, Agile, AI, Data Analytics, Big Data.
- Deep understanding of the data domain and the power of utilizing data solutions to drive velocity and deep analytics.
- Deep understanding of build patters across various technologies such as Java, .Net, Angular, Python, SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and azure technologies.
- Worked on process engineering encompassing SOX, SSAE18, GDPR and other regulatory protocols.
- Demonstrated experience building strong technical teams with a solid business acumen.
The salary range for applicants for this position is $154,700 to $206,300.
