The role:
The AML Training Program, Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the development and delivery of AML training modules across the enterprise. This role will support the training of new hires across the AML Department, including onshore and offshore managed services that supplement the Department, on key AML controls including transaction monitoring and customer screening (e.g. adverse media, sanctions, etc.), enhanced due diligence, and related processes. Additionally, this role will own the creation of and, where required, the delivery of enterprise-wide AML training and targeted training to non-AML departments that facilitate AML-related processes. The role will ensure training records are maintained centrally and readily available. The role is expected to set the direction for the AML training team, develop direct reports, and inspire the team through servant leadership.
What you'll do:

  • Lead and oversee the AML Department's training team and functions.
  • Serve as a direct escalation point related to training functions and take ownership of resolving related issues.
  • Develop, inspire, and serve the AML training team by holding regular 1:1's, providing feedback on initiatives and interactions, and ensuring the team is engaged in a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Oversee the development and deliver training materials for AML Department team members, including, but not limited to, processes related to the Financial Intelligence Unit (i.e. transaction monitoring, SAR filing, etc.) and Client Intelligence Unit (i.e. list management screening, transaction screening, enhanced due diligence reviews, etc.).
  • Continuously engage with AML leadership, cross-functional leadership, and vendor leadership to identify changes impacting AML-related processes and prepare communications or training as applicable.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of training logs that evidence attendance to required training.
  • Own the coordination of user acceptance testing processes related to system changes by developing and executing test scripts, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to address issues, and keeping stakeholders apprised of the testing results.
  • Own the monitoring, evaluation, and update process related to enterprise AML training modules to ensure materials include updates to reflect AML regulatory changes.
  • Create monitoring, reporting, and escalations processes for completing mandatory AML training modules across the enterprise.
  • Own the development of presentation materials related to required AML training.
  • Assist in regulatory exams, internal audits, and third-party risk management reviews related to AML training content.
  • Identify and distribute supplemental AML training (e.g., ACAMS training) relevant to the various AML Department teams; track and report on assigned training and ensure accurate training logs are maintained.
  • Own the coordination and delivery of any identified issues or enhancements related to AML training.


What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Business, Management, or other relevant areas.
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a demonstrated track record of training delivery and/or relevant experience in risk and control management focusing on various large-scale technical initiatives.
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills, including strong written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong management, organizational, and evaluative process skills. Ability to analyze complex organizational and technical issues to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, across different business lines, and with external stakeholders.


Specific Skills:

  • Experience in managing an AML-related training program or training full-time employees and/or contractors on AML-related processes.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Multitasking, being adaptable to changing priorities, and effectively prioritizing workflow to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and changing environment; must work well under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills are required.
  • A demonstrated track record in identifying gaps, process improvements, and proactively proposing solutions, and as appropriate, executing team-wide communication and training.


Nice to have:

  • CAMS/CFE certification preferred (or willingness to become certified within one year of start date).
  • Experience in an AML of financial services training role or subject matter expertise in BSA/AML and/or Sanctions Department.

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
