Salary Range:
$100,000.00 - $130,000.00
Reverb is looking for a high-caliber Senior Systems Administrator who will handle large internal network and systems engineering implementations, and lead company-wide IT operation project rollouts as the organization grows. The role requires significant hands-on experience, as this person will work on long-term projects while handling day-to-day user support.
As a senior member of the IT Operations team, you will operate as a trusted advisor and primary technical project coordinator, a mentor for the IT Support team, and provide multi-functional support for technical and non-technical internal users at Reverb. You will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with significant and exciting changes that interact with diverse groups.

This is a full-time, hybrid position, located in Chicago, reporting to the Engineering Manager, IT.
In this role, you will
- Own internal network management (VPN, Meraki, Radius, hardware, etc)
- Responsible for the support of business applications including but not limited to G Suite, Jamf Pro, Okta, Slack, and GitHub
- Working predominantly on IT projects - Implementing and maintaining an enterprise Meraki network (AWS VPN/Radius), IDP (Okta), SaaS Architecture, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and OS delivery systems for internal use
- Lead software updates/patch management via Jamf Pro
- Refine team processes and workflows; automation of time-consuming processes
- Document policy, procedure, and technical instructions
- Pair with members of the infrastructure and security team on company-wide projects and critical issues
- Build partnerships with Etsy House of Brands' concurrent teams to improve processes, communications, and tooling
- Find opportunities to reduce toil and lessen the support and operations load on the team
- Contribute to planning and ensure timely delivery of work
- Share responsibility for the operations and support of our corporate AV systems (currently Google Meet)
- Function as a domain guide for the IT team.
- Build relationships with third-party software companies to ensure effective solutions are provided, explore feasibility through pilots and proof of concept studies, and be responsible for these vendors' evaluation, contracting, and ongoing performance management.
- Assist in the support functions of the help desk team from an escalation point of view.
Qualifications
You are a resourceful, adaptable, and confident person who will help make our remote and in-person office a happy and productive environment. To be successful in the role, you have:
- 4+ years of experience in systems administration and handling medium to large enterprises
- 2+ years of experience working in networking
- Experience deploying enterprise-level Meraki network hardware and infrastructure from the ground up
- Knowledge of the UNIX command line and common tools
- Experience with Terraform or similar IaC and scripting libraries
- Confidence in rolling out and administering identity providers in an enterprise environment (Okta) with third-party integrations
- Superb communication skills in person, via email/tickets/project blueprints, and Slack
- Experience providing domain expertise and crafting education moments with other team members
- Experience with workflow orchestration and improvements
