Overview of the Role:
The Senior Director, Data and Core Product Management effectively balances, and demonstrates, an ability to operate at the most strategic levels within the business while also leading Product Management teams to research, analyze, strategize, plan, and execute. The Sr Director will operate as a member of the Digital Turbine P&T leadership team, and will work closely with the BU peers and the C-suite. The role is expected to lead the product function for the Core BU in understanding the industry competitive trends to develop strategies that support company growth.
This role will play a critical role in developing and/or shaping comprehensive product portfolio strategies, including product lifecycle management, portfolio rationalization, and investment management. The role will lead the Data and Core Product Management teams to deliver multi-year business strategy plans-while also advancing the methodology and processes.
You are a storyteller, you understand the product portfolio and the richness of data that comes from our products. You know how to connect that data to opportunities to monetize and further the customer experiences. You help shape the north star, and you are adept at landing the data narrative both internally and with our customers.
The Sr Director, Product Management position reports to the SVP, Product Management. This role will be based in our Durham, NC office, and will likely require some travel.
About the Role:
You will take primary ownership of developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to unlock the potential of our 1st party data by overseeing our identity solution and enriching it with third-party data to build out and activate a Digital Turbine DMP. You will be responsible for driving standardization, governance and access for data across all products, including enabling self-service access to data for all employees to monitor product health and enable product optimization. You will have ownership of the on-device core platform teams. Enable support for our programmatic advertising products through core capabilities that enhance customer-facing experiences, data capture, and experimentation frameworks for targeted ad delivery.
In this role you will:
Lead a team of 10+ dynamic product managers to establish and execute a shared roadmap and vision.
Provide guidance and mentoring for growth within the Product org where the quality, productivity, and integrity of the product teams are best-in-class.
Build consensus on strategic priorities and drive the ongoing development of existing products, as well as identify opportunities and integrate new trends in ad tech, data, and identity solutions - including vendor selection and optimization strategies.
Develop deep partnerships with engineering and product teams across on-device and programmatic advertising business units to find synergies, help to determine the overall direction of product development, fine tune process workflow, and implement best practices.
Foster a data driven culture of continuous innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration across product, business, technology, analytics, operations, risk and control functions to drive an understanding of the data and its use within the business by providing data product subject matter expertise.
Partner with internal and external data consumers who want to use advanced AI and ML tools and gather their data products requirements; document requirements for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data within the product, and coordinate resources to deliver data quality requirements.
Define and execute Data strategy, Data Governance, and Roadmap to achieve business objectives, including the processes, KPI's, frameworks, governance, tools, and technologies required to scale.
Establish and track key performance indicators to measure product performance and business outcomes, implementing and analyzing experiments to optimize the product experience and improve key metrics.
Track the execution of a set of milestones; understand and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the product development lifecycle with respect to dataBe a community builder for the product function across the company.
About You:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in mobile/on-device software and data product management, technically grounded but with a highly developed commercial mindset.
The ideal candidate's experience will include leading a data-as-a-product product management team for a fast-growing On-Device and/or AdTech software company.
Proven track record designing, shaping, and bringing successful enterprise software products to market. Specifically, expertise building/launching successful B2B/B2B2C products/suites, particularly with mobile carriers and/or OEMs in the Android ecosystem.
Must have managed products as a 'business owner' owning both go to market strategies and solution requirements definition.
Experience in driving the growth of a product/portfolio on a global basis is desired.
Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones.
A track record of directly leading, managing, and mentoring a high-performing team of product managers, product owners, and business analysts.
Demonstrated success in cross-organizational collaboration and matrix project management for product release readiness and portfolio-wide product strategy. Strong technical competency enabling close collaboration with a product development organization.
Well-developed product management skills, from requirements gathering through documentation to release; good intuition for the right balance between necessary process and agility of execution.
Experience working on software requirements for an interdependent suite of products is strongly desired.
Exceptionally prioritization and communication skills (these are essential requirements for success in this role).
Possess a sense of urgency and the ability to lead a team to exhibit the same urgency.
Bachelor-level degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Management (Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or Technology Management is a plus)
Participation in industry or Product Management groups a plus
$212,000 - $318,000 a year
Compensation package will also include annual bonus and RSU equity
