Talkspace is headquartered in New York, NY, but this role can be remote and will report to the Senior Product Designer
What You'll Do
As part of our 2024 Early Careers Program, you will be part of a community that grows together!
You will have the opportunity to work closely with other Designers, Product Managers, and Developers throughout the discovery, design, and development processes. From participating in day-to-day team rituals like design critiques and design workshops, to contributing across usability testing and feature development, you'll gain hands-on experience in user-centered design principles.
- User Research: Conduct user research and engage with our communities, contributing to a deeper understanding of user needs
- Accessibility First Designs: Assist a Senior Designer in the end-to-end design process of designing features that address the diverse needs of our users
- Design Thinking: Practice human-centered design approach to solve real-world problems through empathy, ideation, iteration, and testing.
- Design System: Contribute to the documentation of Talkspace's Design System to ensure consistency and efficiency across our products
For Graduate Students:
While the core responsibilities remain consistent, graduate students may have opportunities to tackle more complex design challenges and take on greater ownership of projects within usability testing and research initiatives.
Internship Details:
- Duration of Internship: June 3rd 2024 - August 19th 2024
- Total of 2-3 projects and a final presentation describing your projects, process, and accomplishments during your internship at Talkspace
- You will gain valuable (and paid!) professional experience, specific field related exposure and the ability to learn skills from collaborating with professionals
- You will have a Talkspacer Mentor coming from this program - someone who helps keep track of your progress across 12 weeks
About You
- Rising juniors and seniors in undergraduate degree, or enrolled in a graduate program
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
- Able to commit to working 20 hours per week during the summer
- A passion for being in the details, ensuring every document, project, or experience is on-point and on-brand
- Strong communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to listen, articulate positions, advocate, and execute ideas
Bonus Points
- Previous experience in user experience design, including user research, wireframing, and prototyping
- Experience with design tools such as Figma and Figjam
- Exceptional organizational, collaboration and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Compensation
At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.
The hourly compensation rate for the role will between $15-16 and eligible for those enrolled in a degree program. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate’s relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
