Agile Six is a people-first, remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions. We build better by putting people first. We are animated by our core values of Purpose, Wholeness, Trust, Self-Management and Inclusion. We deliver our solutions in autonomous teams of self-managed professionals (no managers here!) who genuinely care about each other and the work. We know that’s our company’s purpose – and that we can only achieve it by supporting a culture where people feel valued, self-managed, and love to come to work.

The Role

At Agile Six, Delivery Managers support multiple delivery teams. Each team is comprised of Agile Six employees and people from trusted partner firms. We seek Delivery Managers who:

  • Steward team health and successful delivery with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Leverage agile principles and experience to help the team continuously deliver value
  • Take a bias to action to pragmatically solve problems that are barriers to the team
  • Collaborate to build effective trust-based relationships
  • Communicate honestly. Provide direct feedback and help others do the same
  • Bring out the best in others and foster inclusion
  • Support our core values

Most importantly, we look for people who share our passion for working on important problems that have a lasting impact on millions of users and make a difference in our government!

We are looking for a Delivery Manager to join a new cross-functional team partnering with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to help USDA provide State agencies with a tool to screen for duplicate participation and take timely action to reduce improper payments; and to facilitate State-to-State communication to help State agencies promptly and accurately process SNAP recipient moves from one State to another.

Please note, this position is anticipated, pending contract award response.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Agile training and coaching for Scrum teams and leadership to ensure the adoption and improvement of Scrum practices, process and desired outcomes and to establish a culture of self-organizing, cross-functional and accountable teams
  • Schedule and facilitate Scrum meetings as required
  • Assist teams to identify, communicate and resolve or escalate impediments and issues
  • Utilize appropriate tools, metrics and techniques to successfully guide the team's progress against the Sprint Plan
  • Drive continuous improvement through the facilitation of team and leadership retrospectives, ensuring teams effectively prioritize, plan and execute on improvement ideas
  • Facilitate development of a positive team dynamic, collaborating with your team to build a safe and trusting environment
  • Monitor, identify, and address conflict, integrating company support and resources as needed
  • Help the team maintain a pace of delivery that is effective for the customer, and sustainable for the team within a complex environment
  • Bring out the best in team mates by leading by example, explaining the positive impact of our work, and driving positive outcomes for users
  • Facilitate progress without coercion, assigning, or dictating
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and effectively, both with team members and with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assess and assist in the mitigation of risk through collaboration, risk tracking, and problem solving
  • Support the practice of delivery within the larger company as needed through activities such as participating in communities of practice
  • We expect the responsibilities of this position to shift and grow organically over time, in response to considerations such as the unique strengths and interests of the selected candidate and other team members and an evolving understanding of the delivery environment

Basic qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) is required for this position
  • In-depth knowledge and application of Agile principles and practices
