Job Functions: 

Requirement Creation & Management:  Leads feature design, user interaction, requirement definitions, acceptance criteria, and prioritization to internal Development, QA, Architecture, and Security teams: 

  •  Produces user personas, user stories, work-flows, POCs, designs, data maps, and/or process maps to document the functionality and operation of all features, enhancements and new offerings for development teams. 
  • Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) before socializing to the Scrum Teams. 
  • The ability to Identify areas for efficiency across data domains, such as the elimination of duplicate data or feeds, identify systems of record and authoritative sources, create data quality rules, create data flow diagrams, and apply firm-wide standards and controls. 
  • Handle data mapping from one source to another. 
  • Works with engineering to identify non-functional requirements and enabler stories; sequencing them appropriately into releases. 
  • Collaborate with QA team member(s) to identify test cases. 

Release Planning:  Creates and drives an execution plan for the Product Roadmap: 

  •  Translates the Product Strategist’s (Manager’s) roadmap (epics) into clearly defined feature sets & requirements, establishing goals and priorities per release.  
  •  Works with the Product Strategist to maintain the Product Roadmap and help determine the sequence features should be developed and released to customers.  
  • Assist in negotiating priorities across multiple lines of business and technical teams. 
  • Prioritizes backlog and product requests from multiple sources to deliver the most value to the organization. 
  • Serve as a consultant on the evaluation and selection process for data asset features integration solutions, and enhancements. 
  • Provide input into the creation of data product roadmaps while also defining and monitoring objectives through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 
  • Problem solves independently or as part of a matrixed multi-skilled team on initiatives that align to the broader business, IT and enterprise data strategy. 

Release Lifecycle:  Delivers and manages new feature development for successful releases: 

  •  Maintains, manages, and prioritizes a well-groomed product backlog to support multiple Product Delivery teams to include Enabler Stories (Architecture, Exploration, Infrastructure), User Stories (Feature / Function), and Improvement Stories (Bugs, Defects, enhancements). 
  •  Participates in agile and development ceremonies, assisting Scrum Master or Project Manager in Sprint reviews.  
  •  Communicates both what is to be developed and why to Product Delivery teams; answering questions to clarify requirement and acceptance criteria. 
  •  Works with business customers and User Acceptance Testing team to conduct testing prior to and during development to ensure product functionality is aligned to user needs and will delight customers. 
  •  Demonstrates latest iteration to customers (pre-release) and gathers feedback.  
  •  Manages entire release lifecycle from Sprint 0 to launch; inspecting progress of every sprint, accept or reject work, and explain why. 

Voice of the Customer:  Represents the ‘Voice of the Customer’ internally, serving as internal subject matter expert for development team: 

  •  Maintains relationships with current and potential customers on a regular basis to understand their processes and needs as they change over time, transposing those into requirements. 
  •  Translate business goals into creative solutions that empower customers by enabling access to data and insights. 
  •  Develops and maintains user personas.  
  • Grow into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can provide clear direction and vision to the technology partners, testing teams and stakeholders. 

Cross-Functional Responsibilities:  Fosters and manages key stakeholder relationships: 

  • Communicate complex processes and circumstances in technical and non-technical terms and ensure all understand the impacts. 
  • Communicates project status to key stakeholders and senior leadership; identifies and escalates risks in scope, cost, and timing. 

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years’ experience and knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies 
  • Experience with Azure ADO or similar tools required 
  • Ability to juggle between conflicting priorities  
  • A data-driven mindset to draw meaningful conclusions and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Exposure and understanding of data management topics and their implications 
  • Foundational understanding of data governance and implications to data profiling, cleansing, mastering, securing, modeling, etc. 
  • Working knowledge of SQL is desired. 
  • User experience with RDBMS and Cloud-based data platform stacks is an advantage. 
  • Financial Services background desired
