- Compliance, Safety, and Relationship Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining high levels of 5S and safe practices. Maintain relationships with suppliers, auditors, and other business units to meet company needs. Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement and manage staff development through training and mentoring.
- Management of Washcoat Operations: Oversee and control Washcoat activities during shifts, ensuring departmental objectives are met. Directly supervise Washcoat staff for optimal efficiency, adherence to budget, achievement of KPIs, and maintenance of quality and performance standards. Tackle troubleshooting of processes and equipment by collaborating with various departments such as Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
- Operational Excellence and Reporting: Manage the production section within budget and oversee raw materials stock management. Ensure continuous washcoat supply to the production line, performing root cause analysis for downtimes, and assuring first-time-right quality. Guarantee accurate and timely record-keeping in systems like WRMS/SAP/TrackSys and assist in the training of new washcoat staff to build expertise and customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Support and Improvement Initiatives: Provide support in other sections, engaging with cross-functional teams like Procurement and Supply Chain to meet production requirements. Lead or engage in continuous improvement projects in coordination with the JM Product System team.
- Versatility and Adaptability in Duties: Embrace a wide range of responsibilities and adapt to various departmental needs as required. Demonstrate a capacity to lead with vision and clarity, focusing on results and trust-building. Show resilience and optimism, driving positive behaviours across leadership and management levels, and take on additional roles to support organizational objectives.
- Education: Degree in Engineering or a chemical-related field, with a preference for a Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge and Experience: Understanding of manufacturing processes and management, experience in batch manufacturing, and the ability to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes.
- Leadership and Supervision: Supervisory and leadership skills, along with the ability to develop, implement, and review manufacturing procedures.
- Quality Management: Basic knowledge of Quality Management System is essential, with a preference for being an internal auditor and coaching team members.
- Personal Skills: Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, a focus on promoting teamwork, an aptitude for working with machinery, and a commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.
