Why This Role Is Valuable
As the SVP, Head of Data Products, you will be responsible for shaping and executing Revantage’s Data and Data Product strategy. Your mission is to empower Blackstone Real Estate Portfolio companies and investments; including Revantage by transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. The team expects to enable their mission by delivering innovative data products while ensuring robust data architecture and operating models. You will lead a team of North American data professionals, overseeing data products, governance, analytics, and data science initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in unlocking the full potential of our ecosystem data, enabling our stakeholders to achieve their goals and create lasting value. This position will be based out of Revantage’s office in Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL office.
How You Add Value
Strategy Development and Execution
- Strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to develop, implement, and drive the strategy around Data Products, Architecture, Governance, Catalogues, Stewardship and Operations.
- Roadmaps: Engage with Blackstone, Portfolio Company and Revantage departments to craft comprehensive data roadmaps and actionable data strategy tailored to their specific needs.
- Global Collaboration: Work alongside regional data leads in Asia and UK/EU to mature the global operating model through efforts such as unified global data taxonomies and roadmaps.
Data Product Management
- Development: Manage the development and lifecycle of a diverse suite of Data Products that enable analytics and drive efficiency for stakeholders.
- Quality Advocacy: Act as a strong advocate for quality throughout the product development process, ensuring high standards for all data products.
- Delivery: Ensure consistent delivery of data products by closely collaborating with Revantage Engineering and Project Management teams.
Data Governance and Analytics
- Design Leadership: Participate in active data workstream discussions to bring consistency, efficiency, and leverage existing synergies.
- Cross-Functional Expertise: Serve as a senior-level SME for all data needs across departments, recommending solutions supported by existing infrastructure.
- Performance Measurement: Establish and maintain controls and feedback systems to monitor team success and drive continuous improvement of data products.
Leadership and Team Management
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of North American data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operations: Oversee the operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities of the Data Product organization.
- Goal and Objectives Development: Formulate long-term objectives and performance standards for the Data Product team.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaboration: Work alongside senior leaders at Revantage and Blackstone to develop and drive data strategies.
- Change Management: Design and lead organizational change initiatives to promote a data-driven culture in response to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
- Influence Positively: Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills to positively influence teams and stakeholders.
What You Bring To The Role
Required:
- STEM Bachelor’s Degree or related degree
- Minimum of 10+ years experience in Product and Data Product related roles; a background in Real Estate or Insurance preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years experience in Product and Data leadership, ideally in large-scale service oriented or data-related contexts
- Experience leadings and/or working with global and cross regional teams
- Demonstrated hands-on Product experience delivering enterprise-grade data, analytics, reporting, or AI products/solutions
- Willingness to step in, join teams and be personally involved in driving forward solutions when necessary
- Exceptional stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating an ability to work well with and enthusiastically influence teams & stakeholders
- Strong mentorship, relationship management, project management, problem solving, project management and change management skills
- Excellent planning skills coupled with a strong oral and written communications capabilities
- Bias for action, ability to deal with ambiguity, and natural perseverance to overcome obstacles and deliver outcomes when leading change
- Analytical mindset and constant enablement of solutions to extract actionable insights from data and present findings in a clear and impactful manner
Base Compensation Range:
Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
