BAE's Electronic Systems (ES) sector is seeking our next Vice President of Information Technology & Security. This executive position entails the strategic oversight of all information technology and security initiatives crucial to safeguarding our organization's assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
This role requires a proactive leader who can collaborate cross-functionally with business leaders to align technology implementations with business goals while fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization. Your influence will extend not only within the organization but also in liaising with external government regulatory bodies, technology partners, and stakeholders to ensure our security posture remains robust in an ever-evolving threat landscape.
The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of information security frameworks, cybersecurity trends, and risk management practices that are paramount in the Defense and Aerospace Industries.
Reporting to the ES Vice President and Deputy General Manager, this role will be based in Nashua, NH.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides the leadership essential to develop the IT and Security function in support of business objectives and security best practices related to enabling program execution for ES' diverse and complex portfolio.
  • Advance our security infrastructure including, facility security, information technology security, insider threat assessment, digital transformation, and classified/unclassified programs.
  • Lead risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and develop countermeasures.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with relevant Defense and Aerospace standards and legislation.
  • Responsible for ensuring the IT & Security organization establishes and maintains ongoing key customer business relationships, including site visits and anticipating and resolving potential problems. Anticipates and understands the security requirements of our customers and develops business enabling solutions to complex security issues.
  • Acts as Security Advisor to the ES Leadership Team in accordance with the company's SSA. Reports on all facets of the company's compliance to include non-US based programs and facilities.
  • Responsible for the Sector's compliance with the NISP and customer supplied security directives for classified national security information and for controlled unclassified information (CUI). Duties include site assessment visits, training and education of the security staff, interface with site leadership to support security programs and attending vulnerability assessments when issues may arise.
  • Foster innovative problem solving, performance excellence, and continuous improvement to deliver affordable, effective, and dependable solutions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Engineering, Law Enforcement, Legal, with 15 years' experience managing large-scale organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in understanding, interpreting, and implementing government regulations. Must have in-depth customer knowledge and established relationships with key customer representatives within government agencies. Critical to have key relationships and background experience with DoD collateral, Special Access Program (specifically, SAF/AQ, DARPA and Navy) as well as Intelligence Community Security leaders.
  • Extensive knowledge of aerospace and defense companies' business processes involving strategy development; program bid and capture; program execution; and program close-out.
  • Ability to leverage both mainstream and emerging technology advancements in support of either digital business optimization or digital transformation activities.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 15 years in the security profession with experience leading personnel engaged in at least one of the following disciplines: DoD and IC facility security, information systems security, communications security (COMSEC), personnel security (PERSEC), data or information security (INFOSEC), intelligence community sensitive compartmented information (SCI), and government special access programs (SAP).
  • Experience implementing security principles and practices, including physical security, technical security, cyber security, and risk management in a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of cleared network infrastructure, protocols, and security, as well as network design, implementation, and maintenance. Additionally, knowledge of cloud networking, virtualization, CI/CD principles and software-defined networking.
  • Experience leading insider and counterintelligence threat programs focused on the protection of employees, assets and supply chain, and uncovering threats to our technologies and information resources from internal and external threats.
  • Experience recognizing and thoroughly understanding changes in the customer security environment, as well as industry trends domestically and globally.
  • Superior knowledge of NISP and SSA standards, policy processes, and U.S. Government practices and other security laws and regulations
  • Security industry board membership, affiliations, and professional organizations.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
