Job Description:
- Searching and examining title records: Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of title information.
- Creating accurate title commitments and reports: Focusing on basic to moderately complex title orders.
- Answering member's questions: Providing prompt responses and resolving moderately complex title issues.
*This position requires experience in Mapping and Metes and Bounds.
Florida Title Examination is helpful.
Primary responsibilities in a typical day may include:
- Search title records to identify the records that may affect basic to moderately complex title orders. Learn and apply basic-to-moderate mapping to identify accurate search parameters.
- Organize the search results into an accurate chain of title for basic to moderately complex title orders.
- Examine all the documents in the chain of title for validity based on knowledge of legal descriptions, real property law and The Fund’s Title notes.
- Validate that base title is within Fund guidelines, determine how apparent title is vested and what qualifies as an outstanding lien or encumbrance for basic to moderately complex title orders.
- Prepare final title products, including the attachment of applicable records and tax information.
- Interact with internal and external customers to answer questions, discuss findings and assist in resolution of basic to moderately complex title problems. Effectively coordinate with the underwriting attorneys as required.
Knowledge and Skills to be successful in your role:
- Knowledge of the title insurance and information industry is required
- Previous experience using Title Insurance software such as Resware, e-closing, ATIDS, etc.
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet goals, including occasional project assignments.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and provide resolutions to basic to moderately complex title issues.
- Ability to work in a time sensitive production environment
- Basic math proficiency and the ability to learn basic to moderate mapping
