The Technology Strategy Lead sits within our newly formed Technology Innovation team, a creative and collaborative group responsible for leading Contact into a technology and data-driven future. We partner with business teams to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions that make a positive, measurable impact.
Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role at a pivotal time. As Technology Strategy Lead, you’ll help shape the future of Contact’s technology landscape, translating strategy into actionable roadmaps that drive our ambitions for decarbonisation and technology transformation. You’ll report into and work closely with our Head of Strategy & Transformation (Technology), engaging with leaders, architects, and subject matter experts to ensure our technology investments and initiatives are aligned and impactful.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the development and delivery of one- to five-year technology roadmaps, ensuring strategic alignment and driving innovation.
- Coordinating business demand management, investment planning, risk and dependency management.
- Facilitating workshops and ideation sessions to identify transformation opportunities and drive alignment.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to delivery and operations teams, supporting end-to-end roadmap management.
- Communicating strategy and roadmap updates to stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.
- Supporting operational performance, asset management and helping to build the technical and commercial capability across technology teams.
You’ll have the chance to create and refine roadmaps, drive change leadership, and shape the future technology at Contact. You’ll be at the heart of our Contact strategy, helping to drive the capability growth across the business. No two days will be the same, and you’ll be empowered to experiment, learn, and grow.
You’ll need to align priorities, influence and perform through teams. Navigating competing priorities and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders can be challenging—but you’ll be supported every step of the way.
QualificationsKo wai koe | About You
You’re curious, adaptable, technically and commercially minded, with a strong foundation in technology and planning. You thrive in fast-paced environments, love solving problems, have a growth mindset and have a knack for bringing people together to achieve shared goals.
We’re really excited if you’ve got:
- 10+ years’ experience in technology planning, architecture, design, and operations.
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, forecasting and roadmap development.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in financial management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant degree (IT, engineering, computer systems, or similar).
Bonus points if you also have:
- Experience in cross-functional business and technology transformation.
- Experience in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strategic partner and supplier management experience.
