Position Summary
PMA has an immediate opening for a Technical Support Person. In this role, you will be supporting our client on-site in Orlando. You must be available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Establish a regular communications plan with PMA off-site manager.
- Observe Client and Client Contractor’s safety procedures when observing the work.
- Provide technical support in all phases of subcontract formation, project execution testing/inspection, submittals, change notices, evaluation, and coordination of subcontractors' payment and closeout of work scope.
- Coordinate projects with a designated client Project Manager throughout the workday.
- Attending site meetings to ensure a proper understanding of work packages and deliverables.
- Monitor and report task activities and provide support to other staff in the completion of their work; conduct observations for compliance with plans and specifications; review and evaluate available project documentation in addition to establishing and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
- Respond to questions regarding the progress on assigned tasks.
- Comply and coordinate task deliverables among Client sub-consultants/contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and violations.
- Complete a Daily Construction Observation Report for each assigned project, including a photographic summary, and submit it through the client’s e-Builder.
- Prepare a post-shift checklist review based on the client’s Project Manager collaboration.
- Perform quality control and mitigate issues related to project responsibilities.
- Coordinate with client’s Building Operations (i.e., coordinate device outages for fire alarm, access control, HVAC, etc.).
- Coordinate and facilitate Contractor access to the Client’s project site/utilities, parking, and laydown area.
- Coordinate and confirm that the punch list items are completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare final reports and presentation documentation for stakeholders.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, project management, or equivalent experience required.
- 5-10 years of construction industry experience required.
- Prior municipal/public works project experience required.
- Experience or demonstrated ability for developing and maintaining progress reports required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
