The Transportation Solutions Division within the Leidos Civil group is seeking a Program/Project Manager to lead a dynamic team supporting Investment Research and Development (IRAD) projects for the Common Automation Platform (CAP). This role requires expertise in managing complex programs that leverage advanced automation, data-driven decision-making, and modern software architecture principles, including distributed computing, scalable infrastructure, and intelligent automation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage projects within the IRAD CAP program, ensuring milestones are met for multiple product developments.
Define and execute project vision, ensuring stakeholder collaboration and strategic alignment.
Act as the primary liaison between business partners, project stakeholders, and Leidos leadership.
Oversee product planning, implementation, development, and verification.
Manage budgets, resources, task prioritization, risks, dependencies, and timelines.
Ensure adherence to project schedules and cost parameters.
Lead and foster collaboration within a large team (30-50 members) organized into sub-teams.
Utilize Agile/SAFe methodologies for planning, scheduling, and delivering project work.
Recruit and retain highly qualified professionals for project success.
Identify and mitigate risks, providing effective solutions.
Provide program management for ATC modernization initiatives.
Interface with subcontracts, finance, marketing, operations, and lab/HW management.
Communicate project status and needs to company executives.
Apply best practices in software and product development using Product Management methodologies.
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring task performance and issue resolution.
Collaborate with technical leaders to oversee development, measure performance, and apply systems engineering processes for requirements and risk management.
Leverage distributed computing, scalable infrastructure, and intelligent automation for product development and integration.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field with 10 years of Project Management experience.
7+ years managing large-scale engineering projects with multi-million-dollar budgets.
3+ years leading teams using DevOps, Agile, or SAFe methodologies.
Proven ability to lead teams of 50+ engineering professionals.
Expertise in Agile/SAFe Sprint methodologies and scrum management.
Experience in financial and product portfolio management.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Extensive experience supporting product lifecycle development.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP, Certified Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Experience managing product development with distributed architectures, integrated data platforms, cloud deployments, and containerized software.
Proficiency in DevSecOps methodology and CI/CD pipeline models across multiple environments.
