The opportunity

We are now looking for a motivated and committed Technical Specialist for our Hub Europe Pre-Sales Team at Hitachi Energy. This is not a sales role, but you will identify and capture new market opportunities in the segment of Electric Utilities and Industry, in collaboration with local units. If you possess an understanding of Protection & Control applications within the Electric Transmission or Distribution utilities and basic understanding of Ethernet communication and Cyber Security principle within the industry, we want to hear from you! 

Location for this position is flexible. Most important for this role is your personality and your willingness to learn and explore new areas. Good teamwork and collaboration skills are crucial to succeeding in the role. 

Please note that this is a remote role, which requires a certain level of self-initiative. You will also have the flexibility to plan your workdays independently. The applicant must have the right to travel freely within Europe and the United Kingdom.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide pre-sales technical support and expertise to assist the sales team in their sales effort.
  • Possess specialized product knowledge in a single product or product line.
  • Deliver in-depth presentations and product demonstrations to clients and sales representatives.
  • Possess some capability for the installation component of product/service solutions and develop prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of product solutions.
  • Customer support to address clients’ issues in the usage of products and services.
  • Perform customer interactions like demos, proof of concepts and presentations.
  • Prepare to travel 15 to 20 days per year within Hub Europe area for customer visit and demo. Virtual and face to face.

Your background

  • Degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
  • You have an active, energetic, and open approach.
  • You have 3-5 years of B2B technical sales or Technical Project experience within Distribution Utility area and perhaps gain some experience with customer activities.
  • Good communication and presentation skills and ability to learn.
  • Ideally, you have a background with Protection & Control applications for Electric Distribution Utilities, or from the industry.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English, any other European language is an advantage.
  • International business background is seen as a benefit.
