Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for Technical Leadership on a production oriented engineering analysis team for all aspects of the engineering design process, including proposal development, budgetary estimates, schedule/resource planning, design performance & release for customer delivery.
- Provide Technical Leadership in the areas of Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, Containment Response, Hydrodynamic and Pressurization Loads, Fuel Performance, with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.
- Deliver fuel projects including reload evaluation, TRACG-LOCA implementation, new fuel introduction, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel/plant issues.
- Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions.
- Provide technical mentoring to support LOCA and Containment Analysis staff development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence.
- Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge capture and transfer.
- Provide interface for Regulatory activities as it relates to sustaining Design Certification Documents, 10 CFR 50.46 reporting, and related Licensing support to GE-Hitachi, GE Affiliates and Licensees.
- Identify and manage technical risk and assist in developing workable plans for engineering deliverables. Manage project work schedules and priorities.
- Perform technical evaluations of work performed.
- Ensure work is in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures, as well as Quality Assurance standards.
- Interface with internal and external customers on technical issues
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university.
- Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Nuclear Industry in BWR or PWR safety analysis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and Reactor Internals Pressure Difference analyses
- Previous technical leadership experience or ownership in key technical areas
- M.S. Degree or Ph.D. in Engineering Discipline with experience in thermal hydraulic modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems
- Extensive experience with BWRs, ABWR and ESBWR technology
- Experience in BWR ECCS LOCA analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
- Experience with T/H systems codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, or RETRAN
- Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG LOCA /Containment)
- Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements; Experience with 10 CFR 50.46
- Experience with programming (C#, FORTRAN, PYTHON)

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
