Are you hands-on, organised, and enjoy working with technology? Join our Networks team as a Technical Assistant in Louis Trichardt and support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fibre optic and wireless systems.
The key purpose of this role is to assist Senior Technicians in delivering high-quality network installations and repairs while ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency on every job.
What you’ll do:
Assist with site surveys, including signal scans, throughput tests, and capturing photos for equipment placement
Support installations by mounting brackets, cable hooks, and running cables under the guidance of Senior Technicians
Perform CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) recovery, removing equipment and tidying work sites
Participate in callout repairs, inspecting sites for potential future issues and assisting with maintenance tasks
Ensure all tools, equipment, and consumables are neatly organised and stocked in vehicles for daily operations
Maintain cleanliness and order at job sites, including tidying up after installations or repairs
Follow instructions closely and prioritise tasks as directed by the Install team
Adhere to Health and Safety procedures and maintain high standards of personal and worksite safety
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team in all weather conditions, confined spaces, and at heights
Demonstrate pride in work ethic, company property, and the quality of installations
What you’ll need:
Matric (Grade 12)
Basic computer literacy
Good working knowledge of hand and power tools used in installations
A valid driver’s license is advantageous
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
Physically fit and able to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces
Strong organisational skills and time management
Presentable, reliable, and punctual with a positive, proactive attitude
Previous experience in a similar technical or installation environment is advantageous
Willingness to work overtime as required
