Where you’ll Work:
This summer internship will be working with the Corporate Tax department where you will be responsible for owning one or more projects assigned to you at the beginning of the week.

"Real work”: through an Intern Project in which you may be able to:

Assists the International Team with 5471/8858 tax forms preparation process.

Assists with Earning and Profits calculations, Country by Country Reporting, Current Taxes Paid calculations and other tax calculations prepared in excel workbooks/Alteryx.

Learn how to navigate OneSource Income Tax Software (OIT) to prepare 5471/8858/8865 tax forms.

Assists the Investment Team with Schedule K-1 federal tax document to report the taxable income and IRS disclosures.

Participates in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns and filings when needed.

Prepares special projects, including work on routine audit requests and research of moderately complex tax problems/issues.

Works closely with tax team members and legal entity contacts.

Conduct research related to Cigna and its clients.

Perform data analysis and assist in data reporting as needed.

Prepare oral or written presentations to management.

Collaborate with other functional areas on various projects as needed.
What you need to do the job:

Ideal candidates will be progressing toward a bachelor’s degree and has completed at least 1 year in desired majors including, but are not limited to Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, and other related fields

3.0 GPA or higher is preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in problem solving and analytical thinking.

Additional Information:
Location: Flex in Bloomfield, CT. This role is Flex which allows some work to be performed at home, but we also anticipate that interns may need to come into the office at least three/four days a week during their internship, but that is subject to change. Geographical preference is for the incumbent to be located in the Bloomfield area. The internship is paid and housing assistance is not offered.
Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work for the duration of the internship. Internship begins May 19, 2025.
Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $23.50 – $24.50 an hour depending on relevant factors, including year of study.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
