ECS is seeking a Systems Engineer to work in our Quantico, VA office.
Are you ready to play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge technology for federal law enforcement and scientific organizations? ECS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to provide IT services and support for hardware, IT systems, applications, and operational technologies that support mission critical operations in support of our DOJ FBI Client. The scope of this program is to enhance enterprise IT services and solutions to this FBI component to provide best-in-class end-user support and drive improvements in the operations, management, maintenance and integration of services across multiple networks, systems, and applications to enable and enhance mission operations for law enforcement capabilities.
In this role, you will be working at the intersection of traditional IT and specialized scientific and operational technology systems to ensure functionality, performance, availability, responsiveness of supported IT systems and services. You will be accountable for managing server performance against service delivery objectives and identifying and implementing operational improvements to promote efficiency within the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Requirements & Documentation
- Gather and analyze user system requirements using multiple methodologies.
- Develop technical documentation, including system requirements, security specifications, and test plans.
- System Operations & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve server issues related to connectivity, storage, application status, availability, and hardware.
- Monitor system performance, identify anomalies, and implement corrective actions.
- Data Protection & Continuity
- Perform regular data backups and maintain disaster recovery operations.
- Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) to ensure mission-critical availability.
- Infrastructure Management
- Apply technical and business expertise to improve deployment and maintenance processes.
- Design, deploy, test, certify, patch, and address interoperability issues across all system components.
- Collaboration & Service Improvement
- Work independently and collaboratively to enhance system solutions and drive service improvements.
- Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Define and enforce enterprise architecture standards and best practices across IT projects.
- Develop and maintain reference architectures to guide solution design and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance frameworks in all architectural designs.
- Lead architecture review boards and provide guidance on technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies into enterprise solutions.
- US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience, or equivalent certifications demonstrating ability to perform at this level.
- Experience in tools such as AWS, Microsoft, Windows Server, Citrix, NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Ivanti, Microsoft Service Manager, Atlassian, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, WSUS, and BigFix, Splunk.
