Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Network & Systems Engineer for the Infrastructure and Operations Team is responsible for providing JLBJ staff with on-site local network / Infrastructure support for the Perry (GA) location. The role will also be responsible for JLBJ global Infrastructure. The Network & System Engineer will deliver network solutions and provide assistance to compute / storage teams. Network & System Engineer responsibilities include the planning, implementing, monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure within the plant. The Network Systems Engineer must also have extensive knowledge of network technologies and a background in server/storage technologies. Understanding Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) models is required for this role.
The Network Systems Engineer is also responsible for building strong collaborative relationships between the IT team and all Jack Links business teams. The Network Systems Engineer provides I.T Infrastructure technical knowledge and expertise to executive, plant and Business leadership as required. The Network Systems Engineer may work with the System Architect to provide a technical perspective to help process owners identify opportunities for technology expansion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
· Interfaces with plant technology applying I.T solutions to meet the business needs.
· Maintains I.T Infrastructure network technology in the location.
· Supports the global network team in project delivery.
· Supports the network architect in delivering global designs.
· Supports Server/Storage teams with tasks at the plant location.
· Ensures the network is meets security standards.
· Performs firmware updates.
· Working with the International Infrastructure team support global business initiatives,
· Partner with site leadership to understand business requirements that pertain to I.T Infrastructure.
· Identify problem management trends and determine root cause analysis of issues.
· Identify non-value added manual support tasks and automate to reduce team impact.
· Engage with the Project Management Office (PMO) to plan for the testing and delivery of customer technology solutions.
· Effectively prioritize and execute tasks as assigned from internal and project leadership.
· Utilize and update enterprise ticketing system (Numara Track-IT) to keep a record of work assigned and to maintain expected incident management and service level agreements with the business. When necessary, ensure timely escalation of client problems.
· Perform Level 1 analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of Infrastructure technical problems for a variety of end users plus identify, test and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair, as needed.
· Support maintaining global asset tracking of Infrastructure technologies
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education:
Bachelor Degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience
Required Experience:
· 4 Years experience with Cisco network technologies
· 4 Years experience applying firmware patches
· 4 Years experience with virtualization technologies
· 3 years experience with SDWAN
· 3 years’ experience with Windows server operating systems.
· 2 years’ experience scripting and automating Infrastructure. 3 years' experience working with Azure/AWS/Google
· 3 years’ experience working with Security teams responding or remediating gaps.
· Strong customer-service orientation.
· Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
· Able to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation.
· Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
· Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in industry.
· Available for afterhours support as needed
· Valid driver’s license and insurable
· Ability to travel to other plant locations
Preferred:
· 4-year technical degree in computer science field
· CCNA or CCNE Certification
· Experience working in consumer package goods plant.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:
Proven experience understanding I.T Infrastructure technologies and components.
Experience working with Virtualization technology.
Understanding of Network and SDWAN technologies.
Ability to think logically and present data in a structured manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate controlled office. Travel may be required.
