Job Overview
The Systems Engineering team is seeking an experienced engineer to help develop and optimize our vehicles. This role is responsible for creating, validating and maintaining simulation models and running them as needed to guide vehicle development across various domains, including powertrain, thermal management, energy consumption, and vehicle dynamics. The engineer will document and analyze simulation results and share recommendations for improvements with the engineering team.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and document vehicle and system 1D simulation models for use across the company including system development, HIL, MIL and dyno testing
- Perform vehicle level simulations and analysis documenting results in reports
- Recommend vehicle and system improvements to the engineering team and create requirements in the Harbinger requirement management system
- Correlate models to physical testing by writing test plans, supporting testing and updating the models as needed
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure simulations represent the latest vehicle components
- Use simulation to help root cause issues and develop solutions
- Define and develop internal simulation standards and best practices and stay up to date with the latest advancement in simulation techniques and tools
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience using simulations in the automotive field or similar
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink for simulating complex systems
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to requirements and testing of automotive systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a dynamic team environment
