The System Engineer-I role at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for all aspects of system engineering involved in the development and improvement of cutting-edge medical diagnostic devices.
This position is part of the Systems Engineering Department located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be an on-site position. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Systems Engineering Department and report to the Systems Engineering Manager responsible for the design, development, and testing of the next generation of Immunoassay Analyzers. These are groundbreaking medical devices that utilize robotics, machine learning and vision systems to deliver critical results for everything from COVID-19 antibodies to tumor markers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain hands on experience with fluidics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pressure sensors and vision systems.
- Develop feasibility, characterization, reliability and verification test plans and perform testing that covers the expected customer use environment and operational conditions
- Analyze, summarize, present, and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make recommendations
- Work with cross-functional team to quickly investigate and identify solutions for new product issues at customer sites
- Assist in the integration of connected systems to support the development of lab automation
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in field
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast paced, changing environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working within Beckman Coulter in internship role
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Medical regulated experience or experience in a regulated environment
- Experience utilizing software log files to investigate failures
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues
