POSITION SUMMARY

The SVP Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) & Platform Engineering is a strategic technology leader responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure platforms. This role oversees the design and operation of core platform services, reliability engineering, observability, and automation across the enterprise. The SVP partners closely with product, engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure high availability, performance, and developer productivity.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

·Define and execute the long-term strategy for SRE and Platform Engineering aligned with business goals.·Champion a culture of reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.·Lead transformation initiatives around cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code.Platform Engineering·Own the design, development, and lifecycle of internal platforms that support application teams (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, service mesh, container orchestration, developer portals).

Drive standardization and reusability across platform components to accelerate delivery velocity

Site Reliability Engineering·Establish and evolve SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs, incident response, postmortems, and chaos engineering.·Lead efforts to improve system reliability, reduce toil, and automate operational tasks.Site Reliability Engineering·Establish and evolve SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs, incident response, postmortems, and chaos engineering.·Lead efforts to improve system reliability, reduce toil, and automate operational tasks.Operational Excellence·Oversee monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.·Ensure platforms meet compliance, security, and governance requirements in collaboration with InfoSec.Team Leadership & Development·Build and mentor high-performing global teams across SRE and Platform Engineering.·Foster a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, and innovation.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement·Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and Infrastructure teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.·Communicate strategy, progress, and risks to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with deep expertise in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, Kubernetes, observability stacks, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience managing global teams and operating in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
