Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain Manager to lead Sportable’s global supply chain operations—from procurement to logistics to inventory control—with a strong focus on electronics manufacturing and international supplier coordination. This is a critical role at the intersection of manufacturing, operations and product. It involves managing procurement, logistics, inventory and supplier relationships around the world.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in electronics manufacturing who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is proactive and strategic, and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver on time, at cost and with quality.
Required skills/experience
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in electronics or hardware manufacturing.
- Proven track record of managing global suppliers and third-party vendors.
- Strong contract negotiation and procurement skills.
- Experience with logistics coordination including international freight, import/export and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in supply chain software (ideally Odoo or similar ERP systems).
- Experience working in lean teams or start-ups with evolving processes.
- Experience planning early-stage procurement for New Product Introduction.
- Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices is a plus.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Supplier Management
- Own and manage Sportable’s global supplier relationships across both
Manufacturing and Operations. - Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors in collaboration with technical and
product teams. - Coordinate with contract manufacturers to meet build schedules, quality targets, and cost constraints.
- Support production ramp-ups and new product introduction (NPI) planning.
- Lead regular supplier performance reviews and development activities.
- Procurement Oversight
- Own procurement of components, subassemblies, finished goods, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness and delivery reliability.
- Forecast and plan material requirements across functions.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure cost-effective and timely purchasing.
- Oversee PO generation and approvals in collaboration with Finance.
- Logistics Coordination
- Manage end-to-end logistics, including customs clearance, international freight, 3PL relationships and warehouse coordination.
- Ensure frictionless delivery of both component and finished goods across multiple business regions.
- Inventory Control & Systems
- Monitor and optimise inventory levels to avoid stockouts and minimise holding costs.
- Maintain and improve processes within Sportable’s MRP system (Odoo) as a super user.
- Drive continuous improvement in MRP/ERP processes; act as super user for Odoo.
- Risk Management
- Anticipate supply chain risks and create mitigation plans (geopolitical, economic, environmental).
- Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements in global sourcing and logistics.
- Lead supply chain continuity planning (e.g., second-sourcing, safety stock
strategies). - Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Product Development, R&D, and Customer
- Delivery teams to ensure end-to-end alignment.
