Job Summary/Overall Objectives
This position is responsible for supporting the inpatient nursing units at Frick Hospital with day-to-day operations, staff engagement, and patient experience. Functions may include processing payroll, mentoring and supporting newly hired staff, scheduling of staff, ensuring that all staff meeting yearly training requirements, monitoring of quality metrics, , facilitating staff meetings, This role complies with and oversees nursing unit compliance with practices that adhere to infection control policies and promote a safe environment of care as identified by the organization, state, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies. Additionally, the supervisor collaborates with other departments for process improvement and patient flow.

Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program and two plus (2+) years of Nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required at time of hire or obtain within two (2) years of hire or transfer.
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years supervisory/management experience in functional area.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of functional area.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Supervisor experience in nursing.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
- Current ACLS or completion within one (1) year of hire/transfer date into department.
- NIH Stroke Scale – current or within six (6) months of hire/transfer into department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
