About OCC:
A World Class Clearing Organization
OCC is the largest equity derivatives clearing organization in the world. We provide central counterparty clearing and settlement services for equity options, futures, options on futures, and securities lending transactions. We serve approximately 115 clearing members and 15 exchanges including CBOE, Nasdaq, and NYSE.
OCC is building a culture that empowers continued learning, authentic innovation, and constant creativity.
About the Intern Program:
OCC is looking for interns who are hungry for the chance to learn more, humble enough to admit they don't know all the answers, and smart enough to recognize the opportunity. The OCC Internship Program provides students with the real-world skills to successfully transition into a career in the financial services industry. As an intern, you will help lead projects that help shape the future of OCC. This person will apply their skill set and knowledge toward tackling designated projects. This is an exciting opportunity to have a true impact on the company by designing and implementing solutions for real challenges facing the business. Here's what we're looking for:
Projects and Responsibilities:

    • the design, testing, and generation of new security-focused original content, and
    • Tracking the assignment and completion of training (including remedial training)
  • This intern will be mentored on cyber security, training development, reporting, program management, and technical writing by program employees and key internal stakeholders.
  • This intern's mentoring will include an introduction to organizational dynamics, adult learning, behavior modification, internal communications, and personnel administration principles

Candidate Qualifications:

  • The intern must be familiar - from a student's point-of-view - with contemporary computer-based training technologies and live classroom instruction. Almost anyone who attended university in the last decade should qualify.
  • A fully-qualified intern should have at least a foundational grounding in social sciences (e.g., introduction to anthropology, sociology, and/or psychology) in order to understand the principles of collective organizational behavior. Business and/or criminal justice coursework or experience might be substituted based on the type of content.
  • Basic computer proficiency (including word processing, presentation graphics, and web browsing) is mandatory. Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., HTML editing) and graphic design principles is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Instructional design and/or content creation experience is highly desired. The intern needs to be able to parse desired objectives, organize elements of instruction, and communicate a vision for how best to deliver a block of instruction. Classroom instruction experience, publishing, and mass communications experience or training may be a significant plus.

What knowledge and skills will the intern gain from this internship?

  • The intern will learn how a medium-sized corporation staffs, organizes, manages, and evolves a centralized Security Awareness program.
  • The intern will become familiarized with the administration and support of a corporate Learning Management System and the content that populates it.
  • The intern will be taught how to design, deliver, and evaluate behavior-based security training.
