Hiring Salary Range:

$90,000- $115,000

Amentum is seeking a talented and experienced Engineer II to support the Program Executive Office, Submarines (PEO Submarines), to provide analytical, research, and reporting services.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Engineer II will apply engineering disciplines to technically support development of new and existing Naval capabilities and systems, develop significant alterations to existing systems, integrate and interface existing equipment or software into different applications or platforms to support the warfighter, and support evaluation of foreign or non-developmental systems, equipment, and technologies. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of recent/relevant professional engineering experience.

  • Experience with military and Navy systems, especially related to combat control, weapons, sensors, and electronic warfare.

  • Experience developing existing systems alterations, integrating/interfacing existing equipment or software into different applications or platforms.

  • Ability to identify and solve complex technical challenges related to submarine systems.

  • Proven meticulousness in design, testing, and maintenance is crucial for ensuring the reliability of the defense systems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with different teams and stakeholders for successful project execution.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering (e.g. naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.)

  • 5+ years of experience with Navy Acquisition and/or In-Service Logistics Programs.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer. 

  • Demonstrated experience working with Undersea Systems (Torpedo Defense Systems preferred).
