Strategy Expert (Cross-Group) – Position overview:

The Cross-Group Strategy team defines the core business strategy in partnership with the Group strategy leads, identifying and evaluating strategic initiatives and guiding the Groups on initiative execution. Together with the AVP of Cross-Group Strategy, the Strategy Expert will ensure that the Group and Business roadmaps are aligned with Enterprise priorities, orchestrate the annual strategic planning cycle, support the portfolio management and resource allocation process, and take on major strategic projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Group strategy leads during annual strategic planning cycle to define the business strategies in alignment with the enterprise priorities

  • Develop Enterprise Strategy initiatives together with the broader Strategy & Corporate Development team

  • Work closely with strategy, business, finance, and HR leaders to align budget to strategic objectives and ensure implementation of the strategic plan across Agilent

  • Conduct market and customer deep-dives to validate strategic pivots in coordination with the Market Intelligence team

  • Guide Group Strategy leads in evaluating their markets, identifying and evaluating strategic priorities, creating business cases, crafting a strategic narrative, and plan for implementation.

  • Support “portfolio of initiatives” process by ensuring that uniform approach to business cases is implemented

  • Work cross-functionally to establish balanced scorecards to track strategic plan execution

The preferred candidate will be commutable to Agilent Headquarters in Santa Clara, CA

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; business or technical degree related to life sciences preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following functions: strategy, business development, strategic marketing, market analysis, business consulting, or related positions

  • Experience in market and business assessment through primary and secondary research, market modeling and business case development

  • Demonstrated track record of results utilizing interpersonal, relationship-building skills required in multi-functional and geographically dispersed teams

  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and complexity that relies heavily on collaboration and cross-functional interaction

  • Leadership maturity, confidence, and a high degree of emotional intelligence

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $188,544.00 - $294,600.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
