Strategic Finance Business Partner

As a Strategic Finance Business Partner on our Strategic Finance team, you’ll be at the heart of ThoughtSpot’s growth journey, driving financial performance and shaping key business decisions. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to develop high-impact financial models, provide actionable insights, and influence strategic initiatives that directly impact the company’s success. You’ll play a critical role in the company’s expansion, from top-line forecasting and revenue analysis to supporting our Go-To-Market strategies, all while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your insights will guide the future of the business.

What You’ll Do:

• Financial Modeling & Business Insights: Develop and maintain integrated financial models (3-statement, ARR, ACV, ATR) to support company-wide multi-year planning and scenario analysis. Additionally, you will define metrics and leading indicators of business performance to help measure and optimize growth.

• Cash Projections: Lead the development and continuous refinement of cash flow forecasts, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and effective management of the company’s short-term and long-term cash position.

• Investor Relations: Support investor relations activities by preparing financial analysis, materials, and responses for quarterly earnings, board meetings, and investor inquiries, ensuring clear and accurate communication of the company's financial performance and outlook.

• Performance Analysis & Decision Support: Deliver monthly and quarterly assessments of company performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize strategy.

• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Operations, and department leaders to align budgets, forecasts, and strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient resource allocation and operational efficiency.

• Strategic Initiatives Support: Execute ad-hoc analysis to transform complex business questions into data-driven financial models and insights that directly influence key strategic decisions.

What You Bring:

• 7+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a related field, ideally within a SaaS or tech environment.

• Strong technical expertise in financial modeling and forecasting, with a keen analytical eye for building integrated models from scratch (in Excel, Google Sheets or other planning applications), and proficiency in tools like Adaptive Planning or similar financial software.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to distill complex financial data for senior leadership.

• A collaborative mindset and experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful financial insights.

• A results-oriented approach, with a focus on driving continuous improvements and optimizing financial processes.
