The Strategic Account Executive, Emerging Groups drives new business growth and long-term partnerships with regional veterinary groups and mid-market consolidators. This senior sales professional serves as the executive relationship owner for assigned emerging group accounts, focusing on selling Covetrus VetSuite (VS) and related platform solutions to C-suite leaders.
The role is responsible for shaping strategic offers, negotiating commercial agreements, and delivering measurable value to both customers and Covetrus. Success requires exceptional executive presence, solution-selling capability, and the ability to unify Covetrus’ technology, pharmacy, and distribution offerings into an integrated, differentiated value proposition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Engagement & Business Growth
Serve as the primary executive-level relationship owner for regional and emerging veterinary groups.
Develop and deliver compelling business cases that align Covetrus VetSuite solutions to customer growth, efficiency, and financial objectives.
Lead negotiations for VetSuite and bundled solution agreements involving multiple stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute territory-level growth strategies that expand share of wallet across VetSuite, pharmacy, and distribution solutions.
Partner with Product, Marketing, and Category Management to tailor offerings to customer needs.
Monitor market dynamics, consolidator activity, and financial performance across target groups.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with internal Account Management, Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure delivery excellence.
Act as a key escalation point to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction with VetSuite deployment.
Financial & Analytical Rigor
Build ROI models, pricing strategies, and forecasts to support enterprise-level deals.
Partner with Commercial Operations and Finance to ensure forecast accuracy and profitability.
Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and pipeline management to ensure forecast predictability.
Communication & Influence
Distill complex solutions into clear, compelling narratives tailored for executive audiences.
Influence internal stakeholders to align resources and deliver customer value.
Represent Covetrus at industry events and customer forums as a thought leader in emerging group strategy.
PERFORMANCE METRICS
New group acquisition and VetSuite adoption revenue.
Gross profit growth within assigned emerging group portfolio.
Executive-level satisfaction and retention.
Forecast accuracy and disciplined pipeline management.
QUALIFICATIONS
7–10+ years of enterprise or strategic sales experience with demonstrated success in complex deal-making and executive engagement.
Proven success selling SaaS, healthcare, or technology solutions into multi-site organizations.
Strong financial and business acumen with ability to create ROI and value-based sales cases.
Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
Exceptional executive presence and communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Deep understanding of veterinary or healthcare consolidator dynamics.
Background in introducing new technology or services to emerging or mid-market groups.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Extensive computer and phone use.
Regular regional travel for client meetings, events, and conferences.
Attendance at national and regional sales meetings is required.

The pay range for this position is as follows:
