Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
• Assist the Technical Product Director in defining the backlog for the new versions of GE HealthCare's market leading advanced visualization platform (AW Server)

• Work closely with product management and software engineering teams in creating and maintaining our roadmap for new feature introduction

• Understand user needs of the various user profiles (clinical, IT admin, service engineer) of AW Server by engaging key stakeholders in each group

• Act as a bridge between users, external stakeholders and software engineering teams to ensure that features are defined and delivered in line with user expectations

• Lead engineering integration efforts between GE HealthCare and 3rd party products

In order to be successful, you will routinely need to:

• Act as an internal expert on the product as well as the associated competitive landscape
• Interact with customers/stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and obtaining product feedback
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and significant products
• Collaborate with UX in design decisions
• Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer, product manager and engineering teams
• Own and manage the backlog; continuously ordering and prioritizing it based on customer feedback to ensure that it is ready for product increment planning
• Demonstrate strategic level skills in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity
• Engage frequently (50% of the time) with the development team: facilitate discussions, provide clarification, user story refinement, contribute to design activities and decisions
• Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work unit
• Partner with Service Owners to ensure healthy development process

• Demonstrate excellent business acumen, keeping an eye on latest industry trends
• Mentor junior team members

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM fields or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in software development, especially in the medical software industry

• Experience working with medical / healthcare professionals in product development, innovation or research contexts
• Experience working in an Agile environment, especially in a larger corporate environment

Desired Characteristics

Qualification and experience:

• Master's Degree / PhD in STEM fields or equivalent experience

• 10+ years of experience in software development, especially in the medical software industry, especially in technical product management roles

• Experience working with standards (e.g. DICOM) or products (e.g. CT, MR, PET, SPECT scanners) used in radiology

Leadership:
• Pre-emptively sees downstream consequences and effectively tailors influencing strategy to support a positive outcome
• Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications. Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making

• Comfortable with engaging and able to influence technical stakeholders, often on considerably higher level in organization (e.g. director / VP)

• Understands when change is needed

• Able to effectively direct and mentor others in critical thinking skills. Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analysis skills and best practices. Finds important patterns in seemingly unrelated information

• Innovates and integrates new processes and/or technology to significantly add value to GE HealthCare. Identifies how the cost of change weighs against the benefits and advises accordingly. Proactively learns new solutions and processes to address seemingly unanswerable problems
