Job Purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Staff Analog IC Design Engineer.  The Staff Analog IC Design Engineer will be a member of a product development team to design the next-generation mixed-signal automotive ASICs for Powertrain and Power Electronic (Electrification) products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help define block-level specifications
  • Participate in architecture definition of complex custom mixed-mode ICs
  • Develop Functional/Behavioural models
  • Schematic capture and simulation
  • Develop efficient circuit designs meeting functional and yield requirements
  • Work with layout designer to implement layout of circuit blocks
  • Preparation and presentation of detailed circuit design reviews
  • Evaluation of samples in laboratory
  • Documentation
  • Investigation of new circuit design architectures
  • Train & Mentor less experienced engineers & assist with training of new hires (in IC)

What We’re Looking For

  • BS in Electrical Engineering required
  • 8+ years industry experience required
  • Subject Matter expert in IC; automotive IC design experience preferred
  • Proven track record of ability to perform transistor level, analog and mixed signal integrated circuit design in CMOS or BiCMOS technologies
  • Strong technical and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be a lead designer on a complex technical IC Design team
  • Experience maintaining and meeting IC design schedules
  • Knowledge of microelectronic fundamentals & Semiconductor electronics
  • Experience in laboratory evaluation of analog sub-blocks as part of proto-type evaluation activities
  • Familiarity with the following tools:
  • Cadence analog and mixed-signal design tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, etc)
  • Analog circuit simulators (Spice, Spectre, Eldo, Customsim, etc)
  • Linux and Windows OS
  • Behavioural modelling languages (VerilogA, VerilogAMS, etc)
  • Basic understanding of statistics
