Your impact. 

We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant with experience in complex invoicing to join our dynamic startup. As a crucial member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and efficient invoicing processes tailored to the unique needs of our customers as well as being a jack of all trades to support the team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and financial integrity of a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complex Invoice Processing: Play a pivotal role in the invoicing process across all product offerings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Revenue Recognition: Contribute heavily to ensuring proper revenue recognition practices are followed, particularly in relation to complex invoicing scenarios
  • Client Relations: Build strong relationships with clients to resolve billing discrepancies promptly and maintain a positive business rapport
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in month-end and year-end financial close activities, including preparation of invoices, revenue reports, and supporting schedules
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement in invoicing procedures, billing cycles, and revenue collection to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations, internal policies, and external audit requirements related to invoicing and revenue recognition

Your experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA certification preferred
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in an accounting role with a focus on complex invoicing, preferably in the healthcare industry or a related field
  • Strong understanding of general billing practices, revenue cycle management, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and billing systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Maxio, Vertex, Salesforce)
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and adapt to changing priorities

Job Level: 20

Base Compensation Range for Job Level: $60,000-70,000
