A Day in the LifeJoin Sourcing Excellence as a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Program Manager, where you will support the Diabetes Procurement organization as a key member of our global team of dreamers and doers working tirelessly to reduce the burdens of living with diabetes. Sourcing Excellence owns and establishes the tools & processes that enable the procurement team to deliver maximum value and operational efficiency. We lead the adoption of standard work that results in reliable governance and organized consistency. We apply logical, data-based, and methodical approaches to problem solving. This team is responsible for crafting rules of engagement, generating useful templates, and defining optimal process flows. In addition, the team works to increase visibility and centralized access to information, including but not limited to risks and opportunities, goals and OKRs, supplier data, and external market data. Sourcing Excellence also develops and encourages a continuous improvement mindset to optimize and streamline ideation, tracking, and reporting of material cost savings. Basically, the team creates and maintains practical and effective operating mechanisms to make it easy to get work done.

MAIN JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management- Coordinate and execute Sourcing Excellence project deliverables in support of Procurement priorities. Lead critical Diabetes separation efforts to ensure business continuity and Day 1 readiness. Effectively manage multiple workstreams, drive accountability and closure of open actions, align with key stakeholders and regularly report out to leadership. Facilitate process governance, develop digital innovation, support business intelligence, and preserve responsible sourcing. Influence impactful decisions and advocate for standard work tools and processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
Process Governance – Prepare for Day 1 readiness, knowledge transfer and team training, TSA exit management, contract administration, and policies / procedures. Establish structure for OKRs, business processes, and governance. Define cross-functional information flow & op mechanisms, e.g., Monthly Sourcing Review. Drive reporting of material cost savings (design, negotiations) & ideation hopper. PPV tracking and efficient escalation processes, templates, and intake forms.
Digital Innovation – Make work easier and simplify. Streamline through digitalization, automation, and AI tools. Optimize resources to be nimble and lean. Knowledge share through internal SharePoint sites and help maintain business portals that support procurement. Continuous improvement and functional excellence.
Business Intelligence – Make data readily available to enable well informed decisions. Set up internal resources such as dashboards, analytics, contract repository, risk management. Leverage external sources including market research reports and category / industry trend analyses.
Responsible Sourcing – Uphold global standards and supplier code of conduct in our supply chain. That includes engagement in areas such as corporate citizenship, environmental stability, conflict minerals, labor rights, and supplier diversity (small and diverse-owned high performing suppliers).
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant technical and/or sourcing experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Proven communication, leadership, and exceptional interpersonal and team-building skills, fostering effective collaboration within global teams.
- Extensive experience in project management, including developing and launching medical devices; PMI-certified professional.
- Proficient in supplier management, negotiation, and overall supply chain processes.
- Skilled in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with expertise in Design for Reliability and Manufacturability.
- Strong business understanding and the ability to influence objectives in a matrix organization.
- Broad experience in manufacturing processes and material/component replacement initiatives.
- Knowledgeable in design, production, and supplier-related efforts for medical device development.
- Willingness to travel: 10-25%
