The Senior Sales Analyst engages with Sales Leadership, using a consultative approach to understand the business needs and strategies. This role provides insightful analysis to support Leadership's decision making through the design and development of reporting, analyzing business processes, and executing projects that align with the business needs and strategies. The Sr. Sales Analyst ensures the integrity, consistency, and scalability of CDW's sales reporting, while developing standard reporting processes and governance
Responsibilities:
- Identify key ideas and business needs from C-level Executives, independently perform the analysis to generate actionable business insights, and present to the Executive Teams.
- Perform data preparation work (e.g., source, scrub, mine, and integrate relevant data sources) needed for the delivery of analytics and data visualization solutions
- Produce sound analysis from large raw data sets to support sales leadership to drive tactical and strategic departmental objectives and partnership decisions
- Communicate analysis and key findings to leaders clearly, concisely and timely
- Develop and maintain the consultative relationships with key business stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing business intelligence needs
- Conduct a variety of ad-hoc analysis based on business needs
- Report data using SQL and Power BI in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
- Evaluates current reporting and processes and proactively implements improved methods and tools and reduce friction in data-heavy processes and automation, and trains impacted users.
- Work closely with other staff to identify levels of effort and task dependencies for assigned projects
- Act as a liaison between the business and IT on all technical sales projects
- Create and maintain technical documentation based on standard operating procedures
- Innovate new self-serve reporting capabilities on key metrics by leveraging world-class business intelligence tools
- Provide thought leadership on data governance processes and strategies to maximize data integrity and minimize business risk
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years analyst experience with sales analysis, business intelligence, financial analysis, econometrics, or statistics
- Expert-level Excel skills (will be tested)
- Excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with independent judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to directors and VPs
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross functional relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work and make key decisions independently
- Power BI or business intelligence tool experience
- SQL development, optimization, and data extraction to Microsoft Best Practices with relational and multidimensional database queries
- Data warehouse experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Certification or equivalent process improvement experience
- Project management experience
- Salesforce reporting experience
