HoneyBook is the leading clientflow management platform that makes it easy for independent business owners to sell and deliver their services online. Offering powerful tools for communication, contracts, invoicing, payments, and more, the platform puts independent professionals in control of their process and client experience. HoneyBook is trusted by over 100,000 service-based businesses in the United States and Canada that have booked more than $12 billion in business on the platform.

Our culture is built on five core values that inform everything we do. We encourage collaboration, feedback, ownership and have a growth mindset. We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. If you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged, people focused environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

Our Design department is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Product Design, Brand Design, Marketing Design and User Research.

The Product Design team works cross-functionally with just about every team from product, marketing, to education to deliver a unified customer experience and make things feel like HoneyBook.

The primary goal of our growth team is to expand HoneyBook's business by reaching new user segments and enhancing the product experience for existing ones. We achieve this through strategic investments in partnerships, integrations, and feature development, focusing on optimizing both user acquisition and retention at all stages of the funnel.

We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our Growth design team in the New York hub, and lead the design strategy and execution of exciting features which contribute to HoneyBook’s growth.

Here are a few of the things you'll do:

  • Work alongside product managers, engineers, data analysts and user researchers to lead the strategy, direction and execution of HoneyBook’s in-product growth engines.
  • Deliver elegantly-simple solutions to the right problems — defined by our product & design principles.
  • Advocate for our diverse customer base with hard data and in-depth qualitative and quantitative research insights to help meet their unique needs.
  • Design. Test. Iterate: transform complex ideas into amazingly simple products; create wireframes and flows to define features; rapidly test hypotheses to validate and refine your concepts and improve your designs.
  • Work closely with our Design System team to utilize, scale, and improve our Design System across mobile and desktop.
  • Lead the creation of unified experiences across the entire customer journey that are contextual and beautiful. Rally with teammates to design a product that our customers can’t imagine living without.
  • Commit to understanding and knowing our users more than anyone else in the company — both their emotional needs and their functional needs.
  • Be a leader also outside of your product team by contributing to the way we work together and taking an active role in scaling our design driven culture.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • A track record of success. You have 6+ years of experience designing and shipping exceptional products against clear goals, and can provide examples of your recent work and its results.
  • Prior experience with growth-focused products. Successfully launching features through strategic partnerships is a plus.
  • Strong UX skills. You're always looking for ways to craft simple solutions out of complex problems with an awareness of the user’s needs and business goals.
  • Exceptional craft. You’re passionate about aesthetics and deliver beautiful and delightful designs with high attention to details, while staying up to date with recent trends and patterns.
  • System thinker. You design with scale in mind.  You're experienced in leveraging an existing Design System, while identifying opportunities to scale and evolve it.
  • Proactive collaborator. You collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and work transparently to create designs and iterate based on findings from research, experiment results and feedback from your team.
  • Strong communicator. You have the ability to deliver complex ideas with simplified frameworks, rationale, and solid reasoning for any audience.
  • Fearless leader. You can motivate a team to build amazing products by getting the buy-in for your concepts and getting them to rally behind your designs.
  • Growth mindset. You constantly seek to learn, grow and improve through experimentation and feedback. You bring a proactive mindset to improving processes and foster effective collaboration.
  • Design ally. You’re passionate about and experienced with building and scaling a design culture and helping others grow and succeed.

The good stuff:

  • Mission-driven: You'll be joining more than just another startup. Our members’ success is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Impact: We move quickly and encourage every employee to push the envelope. Our best ideas come from out-of-the-box thinking and innovation; be ready to fail fast and often!
  • Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and meaningful equity grants. Base pay: $145,000 - $180,000 USD expected, based on experience and skills.
  • Benefits & perks: From wellness programs to exceptional family leave policies, the health and happiness of our employees are foremost.

Our core values:

  • People come first: We prioritize people as we explore opportunities and work through challenges.
  • Raise the bar: We push for greatness—for ourselves, each other, and our members.
  • Own it: Trust and ownership let us make decisions with confidence.
  • We love what we do: We bring passion to our work and love what we create for our members.
  • Keep it real: Authenticity, respect, and transparency are at our core.

An Insider's view of HoneyBook

What are some social events your company does?

The coolest event we host is our Whiskey Wednesday Happy Hour! I love that this was created, hosted, & managed by employees pre-Covid. Since then, we took it virtual. In a period of change, we knew we could jump into Whiskey Wednesday & see some familiar faces. Now that some folks are in office, it's even more special when we celebrate in person!
